It is true that we are all hypocrits! We are all flawed and human. And I think again the excuse of "hypocrisy" as a legitmate reason for rejecting the gospel is also a cliche and DANGEROUS!

I think the frustration comes when we champion our tolerance, love and open-mindedness when it really just doesn't exist. Folks have come to confuse these qualities with acceptance of all things. But in truth we can love, tolerate and be open minded to a point of view and still conclude that the point of view is destructive, sinful, hateful or whatever.

As Christians, however, our views and oppinions do not trump God's truth. Thanks for your comment!! Much appreciated!

A long time ago, the Holy Spirit told me that I was the biggest hypocrite that I knew. His words caused me to sit up and think about what He said.

I believe what He was saying is that everyone of us are hypocrites in some way or another, but only an individual really knows all of his own hypocrisies. The person may not admit it, but he still knows it deep down inside. And of course, some of our hypocrisies are voiced. And some are not.

Thanks for your rant, I needed it.

Soda is cheap. It costs a restaraunt around 35 cents (from my days at Chick-fil-A). And places charge around $2 for it. Highway robbery.

I AGREE. I wear stuff I got in junior high simply because new stuff costs too much. My mom made my clothes growing up, I know how much fabric costs and I am not going to pay out the wazoo for some piece of (scratchy) crap. I saw a dress or shirt that was COTTON and like $100. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!? Cotton is dirt cheap. They make toilet paper out of it. And this item wasn't well-constructed at all.

Same here - almost all our furniture was given to us as hand-me-downs. We have 3 things that were new, and one of those was a gift for my 16th birthday so it still isn't really new, just not previously used. And when we got married, I didn't even bother to register for dishes because my mom gave me an old set she didn't use anymore. Who cares if some pieces are chipped - works for me!

Ugh...the "recession" fear-mongering drives me insane. About 2 weeks ago I saw this headline: "Economy grows by 0.6 percent." The number isn't impressive, granted, but GROWS is the key word there. Something can't be growing and receding at the same time.
I, of course have a lot more to say on this topic but I will leave it for now...and perhaps prepare my own timely rant.

You officially become "one of those people" when you start buying clothes/Halloween costumes for your pets.

You don't do that, do you?

Okay, that's just rough!!! Nobody (girl or guy) should have to lose their dignity like that. While I wouldn't pull up a front row seat like the husband, I have to say I would be all ears from my car.

People always assumed I was stuck-up too just because I was shy. I think it's a common affliction.
